Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule a session with you?

Prior to scheduling a session, we need to connect for a free 20 minute consultation in order to clarify your reasons for seeking therapy, and to determine if Celine may be the right fit to meet your unique needs. Consultations will always be on the phone. Without an initial consultation, you cannot schedule a therapy session. Following the consultation, a member of our team will reach out to schedule a 50 minute therapy session based upon your availability, and to add you to our client portal to fill out new client intake paperwork.

At the end of our sessions, we will typically ensure you are scheduled for the following week. In order to create consistency, you will meet for therapy at the same day, time, and location each week unless otherwise requested. It is your responsibility to maintain the appointment and to notify us if you have a shift in your availability.

Otherwise, sessions can be scheduled by emailing us directly or by using the scheduling tab . 24 hours notice must be given prior to scheduling a consultation or session.

What is a consultation?

In order to ensure we are a good fit for one another, we will have a 20 minute consultation prior to scheduling a session. If we have not had a consultation, you are not eligible to schedule a therapy session.

During this time, I will ask you about what brings you to therapy, your availability, and your goals for treatment.

If we are not the right fit, I am happy to provide you with a referral for a trusted referral partner in the area that is accepting new clients.

What are your fees?

Each 50 minute psychotherapy or parental consultation session is 190 dollars, 220 for family, relationship, or partnership sessions. 75 minute and 100 minute sessions are available by request.

How do you accept payments?

We charge you directly through your client portal, which was created for therapists and their clients. During the intake process, you will receive an email invite to register for the Therapy Notes client portal, where you can add your card information. Your card will be charged directly for services there after each session. Clients will be charged within 24 hours of each session. Please communicate anticipated delays in submitting payment ahead of time, as payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise specified.

What is a Good Faith Estimate (GFE)?

As a client, have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

  • Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

  • You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

  •  For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

How often will we meet?

Psychotherapy is most effective with at least one weekly 50 minute psychotherapy session. By consenting to engage in therapeutic services with Thea Integrative Therapy, you are agreeing to engage in at least one 50 minute psychotherapy session each week. Excluding illness and planned schedule conflicts, if you are regularly missing, cancelling, or rescheduling sessions, Thea Integrative Therapy maintains the ability to terminate the client relationship.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not bill directly to insurance companies. However, Therapy Notes portal —the payment processor we utilize — will automatically generate a superbill that can be provided to insurance companies for reimbursement for services.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24-hour notice for cancellations and rescheduling. Please provide as much advance notice for cancellation/rescheduling as possible (with a minimum of 24 hours). All cancellations/rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours advance notice will be charged the full session rate, at our discretion (some exceptions in case of emergency will be considered).

If you are going to be late, please let us know by text. If you are more than 25 minutes late for your therapy session, your session may be cancelled at the discretion of the therapist in which case you will be charged for the session. No-calls/no-shows later than 25 minutes will be charged the full session rate.

I’m a parent, how often will we connect about my child?

As your child’s therapist, it is important that we develop a trusting connection in order to communicate openly. However, it is also essential to honor your child’s developmental process and give them space regarding their personal therapeutic work in order to develop trust and rapport with the therapist.

Typically, I will ask parents to schedule a 50 minute parental consultation session on a quarterly basis, and will engage in a monthly 20 minute (free) parental consultation to discuss the needs of your child and provide updates on their treatment progress. Parental consultations that exceed 20 minutes will be charged the full parental consultation session fee. Additionally, if more than one parental consultation is requested within the month, you will be charged the full parental consultation fee.
