Learn More About Celine
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
Celine Williams, (they/she) MA, AMFT is the face and founder of Thea Integrative Therapy. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Celine is honored to contribute to the wellness of the vibrant and diverse culture here, and also intimately understands the various intricacies and social politics of these communities. Celine studied Sociology at UCLA, and graduated with a masters in Clinical Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute. Celine enjoys working with older kids, adolescents, and adults and has worked in direct clinical services on and off since 2016.
Celine is passionate about providing gender-affirming care to their clients, and now offers written letters for those seeking hormone replacement therapy or medical transition covered by insurance. Celine specializes in working with those who identify as neurodivergent, gender nonconforming, LGBTQIA+, sex positive, polyamorous, or within the bdsm and leather communities. She works from a cultural-justice lens, and seeks to honor and uplift the unique cultural backgrounds of their clients. Celine takes joy in cultivating space for identity exploration and expansion; within a safe and uplifting container. With Celine, you can deepen your relationship to your self, and connect to who you really are. Celine is passionate about guiding transgender and gender nonconforming people through their transition and identity formation, while celebrating their unique expression.
Celine’s experience includes working with teens and adults with complex post traumatic stress disorder, depression and anxiety, histories of severe trauma and sexual abuse, substance dependency, domestic violence, and dual diagnoses.
Celine’s direct approach primarily integrates attachment, developmental, somatic resourcing, expressive arts, narrative, humanistic, trauma-informed, social-justice oriented, interfamily systems, and cognitive behavioral methodologies into their highly-relational and playful style.
So often, therapy can be serious and dry, which can spark avoidance of therapy and disconnection between the therapist and client. However, Celine’s neurodivergent take and natural inclination is to add levity and playfulness in order to break the mold of traditional talk therapy in a relaxed setting. Imagine; play therapy for big kids or inner children, or two friends engrossed in deep conversation. You are the expert of your life, Celine’s role is to hold up a mirror to enable self awareness and introspection, while not taking things too seriously.
Above all things, Celine (and evidence-based research) holds that the most important aspect of the therapeutic process is creating a genuine, trusting connection with their clients, and emphasizes this as a common thread in all work.
Celine asks for $190.00 each 50 minute individual psychotherapy session, 220 for partnership and family counseling sessions, and offers sliding scale rates to those in need on a case by case basis.
